Introducing Humu’s Values: Amplify, Empathize, Invest, and Execute

Our four core values guide how we show up and make decisions. They inform how we hire, how we build our product, and everything in between. We kept each one short, clear, and easy to act on, just like the nudges we use to drive measurable and meaningful within large organizations all around the world.

Amplify — we aim to make small moments magical and memorable

As a company built around nudges, we know that little things can make a big difference. That’s why we always put in the extra work to create delightful, meaningful moments, both for our customers and for each other. That might mean celebrating a client milestone with a custom cake or sponsoring socially distanced employee picnics-in-the-park to ensure our team stays connected.

We make it a priority to always treat others with warmth and respect, because we know strong, lasting relationships are built on a foundation of small daily interactions.

Empathize — we work to understand the perspectives of others

We are inclusive, always. We know that making work--and the world--better depends on hearing from a range of voices. To support employees, we need to learn about who they are and where they’re coming from.

When a customer or colleague sees things differently than we do, we work to understand their point of view. We acknowledge that we don’t have all the answers, and that open and honest discussions are key to gaining full context and making good decisions. We embrace constructive conflict because we know it’s the crucible of great ideas.

Invest — we look out for our future selves to build Humu and a better world

Humu’s nudges meet people exactly where they are to help them take the actions that, over time, empower them to be the best versions of themselves. We know that ambitious change is only possible through thousands of tiny steps.

That’s why we’re willing to invest the time, energy, and effort it takes to create real, sustainable change: because we know the payoff is worth it. Our goal is to be 1% better each month.

We invest in ourselves, our culture, our customers, and in each other through hundreds of tiny actions each day, approaching each project with the bigger picture in mind.

Execute—we do our best work, always

At Humu, we’re all owners, no matter our seniority or role. We are responsible for and accountable to each other. We’re proud to show our work to our loved ones (and often do).

We don’t need someone else to track our action items or check up on us, because we’re dependable and care about our work.  Efficiency is critical to our success, so we build processes and systems that let us work smarter and do more with less.

Of course, it’s not enough to publish values without putting them into practice. To make them really stick, we’re re-evaluating our hiring processes and reviewing our people policies and benefits with the values in mind.

We’ll hold each other accountable for living these values as we grow, so we can fulfill our mission of making work better for everyone.
